There are three different types of steering columns used in the Jaguar E-type series, which vary based on the model year and dashboard design. Before selecting the right EZ Power Steering unit, check the type of steering column in your vehicle to ensure compatibility.
Jaguar E-type series 1 (1961 – 1968)
Has the ignition key on the dashboard, no steering lock. (See Figure 1)
Jaguar E-type series 2 (1968 – 1971)
Has the ignition key and steering lock on the column. (see image 2)
Jaguar E-type series 1.5 (1967 – 1968)
Before ordering, you must first determine whether your series 1.5 is based on a series 1 column (dash with rocker switches) or on a series 2 column (dash with toggle switches).
This determines whether your E-type is equipped with a non-locking steering lock (small hole) or with a locking steering lock (large hole). (See images 3 and 4)
